Need a tool for long read single cell data wrangling at scale?
IsoMEX is a Python tool developed by DataTecnica project lead Elizabeth Hutchins PhD for the NIH Center for Alzheimer's and Related Dementias (CARD) to convert Iso-Seq single-cell sequencing outputs into the standardized 10x Genomics CellRanger Matrix Exchange (MEX) format.
This is important as many of these technologies are designed to analyze one sample at a time, but our goal is scaling up and automating data aggregation best practices to accelerate research.
This conversion tool addresses issues like duplicate gene entries in existing Iso-Seq workflows, ensuring consistent gene and transcript annotations across multiple samples for scalable analyses. By facilitating seamless integration with downstream single-cell analysis tools, IsoMEX enhances the accuracy and efficiency of multi-sample analyses, benefiting biomedical research in areas such as Alzheimer's disease.
